Video Yearbook

Video Link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXML98clE0E&feature=youtu.be

My favorite memory is about the senior basketball game. There was alot of beef before and after the game. I filmed the video (some how we did it in less than 10 minutes-so the quality is kinda bad) and I have filmed much better but overall the video was nice. I did not edit the video however. This is our groups video project and it is awesome. We created this video with 5 people (me:Chelsea, Zuhair, Jalil, Allen, and Giselle). Jalil decided to edit the video himself.

Capstone FINALLY OVER

My capstone experience was really good. Unfortunately, I do not remember my judge's name, but she was really nice. She loved the fact that I was pursue my career, and we had a real nice conversation. We talked about 15 minutes. Also, she really like my documentary intro, she even wanted more.
I showed her my water filtration system, and she liked the idea. She said that I did really well. After i was judge, I walked around and talked with my friends.

Video Presentation

SUMMARY

I have created an organization named Eastside Acres AssoCreeks, which shows a documentary about the causes/effects of water pollution in the Eastside Acres area. Within the documentary, it shows a blueprint for a water filtration system that includes a waterpark and an algae creator. This documentary could possibly be sent to the city of Lancaster, local news stations, and internet to show the other people the causes/effects of water pollution to animals and humans close to their area.

Poster First Draft

I had to make a poster for senior capstone

I created my poster by taking and finding many pictures and adjusting the images to a dark nearly black color.
Then i found a hand and a pool of oil that sigifies water pollution and adjusted the image the same.
Then i put a quote at the top at the beginning.

The BlackOut

This Blackout is a huge problem. Not only for the people crying that it is infringing on copyright laws, but the fact that people are actually seeing how it is to have regulated Internet. I know for myself, that Americans are not going to like having their Internet regulated because they feel they are already regulated by the government enough. Also, people view the copyright infringement on the Internet not as stealing, but possible as free advertisement for the copyrights. That can go either way, since the copyrighters are losing money since they say big websites/browsers like Wikipedia and/or Google are allowing piracy to happen on their sites. When people see something they love change into something bad, people are going to do something about, which is where the "contact your representative" come into play. If you don't want to be regulated, then you should go and contact your "representative dude" since the ball is in their court now.

Poster Examples

What are the four most important things to keep in mind when designing a poster?

  1. Grabbing the Attention Should Be Your Priority
  2. Show Little, Hide Little
  3. Give Your Viewers a Reason
  4. Your Poster Should Also Attract Non-Fans
  5. Be Consistent
  6. Avoid Getting Too Creative
  7. Good Amount of Spacing
  8. Recognizably
Some good examples

http://cinedork.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/pos1.jpg

http://attemptedreview.blogspot.com/2010/04/daily-dose-of-awesome-retro-video-game.html

All of these are interesting and would immediately capture the eye of a random person (fan or not). The color of these posters also serve an interesting factor as well; based on the color, that's what type of thing its going to be. It has appropriate spacing and the pictures are not overly graphic but just enough.

Things Learned

What I learned from this article is that, instead of stating your solution ask the audience to help you with a solutions. The audience need to affected by the PSA or they will not even think twice about it. Make sure to make the PSA emotional and mix little facts about it (DON'T MAKE IT PURELY FACT BASE). Make sure the message is clear so the audience know what to do and where/how to do it.

PSA Intent

For my PSA, I would like to use music, some video clips, photos, and some animations.

My PSA targeted audience are the people who pollute and the people who don't care or have no idea how it will come back to effect them in the long run.

I am not sure about the voice over part in my PSA, I am still pending on that decision.

My PSA will have Animated Text because I like animated things in videos.

Outline
  • I will introduce a photo with some background music
  • Then i will introduce my 1st fact and statistical data (in animated text)
  • I will try to put in some video clips with some interacting text.
  • and recycle what i said in the earlier bullets
  • finish it off with my proposed organization for some help and donations

Scope Out the Presentation

  1. There is a possibility that this presentation will have a constructed prop.
  2. I will present the poster material on an easel (if there is no easel then, I will do on a stand)
  3. There is a possibility that this presentation will have a constructed 3D prototype.
  4. The appropriate dress for this is a nice long dress, or a nice business casual suit.
  5. The important stuff to state in my verbal presentation is the facts, the problem, and proposed solution (end product) and it will help my community and its future aspects.
  6. There is a possibility that i will presented a brochure.
  7. This presentation will include a website, videos, and a rotoscoping animation video.

Discussing The Issues

  1. The presentation will be serious.
  2. Graphs about factual evidence (in the US) on how water pollution harms humans and animals. Layout different  diseases that are caused.
    • Old Typewriter Font sends a serious tone towards a viewer.
    • Cool colors
    • Photos and small video of the ones damaged by the pollution
  3. My website, video, and printed material will show the ones that have been hurt by this problem, then show my proposed solution at the end. No one wants to see someone sick or dying especially by drinking polluted waters.
  4. By expressing my point of view in my project, hopefully the viewer will understand while they look at the rotoscoped animated video. There might also be a live presentation showing how the water filter works (but that is a possibly).
  5. I am intending to create a presentation that is easy to understand, that is full of facts, and a possible solution to help solve the presented problem.
    1. Presentation will include:
      • A clean scientific presentation about the environment that is in cool colors of greens and blues, with picture of people and animals that are effected by this issue.
      • A small video about the problem
      • Show a video on the diagram of the water filtration system with the water park and algae filter in it

Thinking on P.S.A.

  1. Key Points
    • Water Pollution (how much of it)
    • Water Pollution (its effects on humans and animals)
    • Possible Solution (stop the pollution and save the environment [water filtration systems and water parks]
  2. Appropriate Visuals and Audio
    • Testimonials from Scientist
    • Small voice over at the beginning
    • Bg audio throughout P.S.A.
    • some still photos
    • video from famous known areas of pollution
    • show the effect of the pollution on humans and animals through a video clip
    • some visual effects
  3. Links to P.S.A
    • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uO9O72_XpH0&feature=fvwrel
      • This video shows the negative effects of oil spills (water pollution). This uses pictures and background music that will make the viewer sympathize with the animals. Also, water pollution affects the fish and the shrimp that kills businesses on the coast (the effect this pollution has on humans).
      • I like this video because it shows how what water pollution (particularly by oil spills) can harm animals and that they need help from humans to clean up. Plus the different animals that are shown are cute and can be seen as effected by water pollution.

Statement of Intent

  1. The Goal of the ReH2O Project is to purify the creek near my house for both humans and animals. By creating a filter to clean the water so it will go to a small water park, then another filter and algae creator so the water will go back in to creek as clean, natural water for the animals. At the end, there will be a brief video explaining the problem and the proposed solution for the audience to further understand the issue.
  2.  The reason why this is important because water pollution not only effects animals, but humans as well. Also, water pollution has caused birth defects and serious health issues. The harm to the environment is also a danger because if the animals are ill from the polluted waters, then they will get sick and get disease such as rabies which is bad for humans.
  3. These goals relate to my career objectives, by showing different problems through different ways of cinematic and new media. My career starts in the Cinema field as a Production Designer, then will expand into other career fields later in the future.
  4. My project gives back to society by cleaning the creek, giving the neighborhood kids a water park, promoting a healthier environment, and informs people about the dangers of water pollution and how it can directly affect them.
  5. This projects addresses the Environment and a little about People.
